Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – Colossians 3:15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. – Colossians 3:15

Big decisions can be scary. Maybe you’re finishing up school and you’re having to determine a career or college path. It can be really difficult to know what to pick. You may feel overwhelmed and stuck not wanting to make the wrong choice.

Today’s Bible verse talks about letting peace rule in your heart. This means that you’ve got to choose to let peace rule in your heart. You can decide to let the decision-making process be overwhelming and let it consume you to where you’re stressed out and fearful. Or you can determine to let the peace of God rule in your heart.

Today’s Truth: Even in uncertainty, you can live in peace. God wants to lead your steps.

Even when you’re uncertain, you can live in peace. You can be confident that God will lead you to the right decision. God doesn’t want big decisions to stress you out. He wants to help you, lead you, and guide you to the right path.

So today, if a big decision has you stressed out, take some time to spend with God. Get into His presence. Remind yourself that even in uncertainty, you can choose to be at peace. God will lead you. He wants to speak to you. Just get quiet and learn to listen to His leading.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid – John 14:27

Have you ever had one of those really crazy stressful days? Maybe everything is not going the way you want or you have too much to do and too little time. Whatever it is that stresses you out, it’s good to remind yourself in stressful times that you can go to God for peace.

Jesus said in today’s verse that He left us peace. What does that really mean? Here are a few definitions from Merriam-Webster.com for peace.

  • A state of tranquility or quiet
  • Freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions
  • Harmony in personal relations

God’s peace covers many of the things that bug us. Whether it’s oppressive thoughts, emotions, bad relationships, or just the stresses of life, Jesus said that He gave us peace.

However, just like any gift you get, however, it’s up to you to use it. If you got a new pair of shoes for Christmas, but you never took them out of the box and used them, they wouldn’t do you any good. The gift of peace is the same way. You’ve got to open it up and use it in stressful times and situations. Take a moment today and choose to tap into God’s peace. Give Him the things that are stressing you out and choose to walk in His peace today!

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – Philippians 4:7

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. – Phil 4:7 (NLT)

Peace is something we all want in our lives. It’s funny though how often we don’t experience peace. We live life full of worry, anxiety and fear. Instead of focusing on the things going right in our lives, all the bad stuff weighs us down. By focusing on these things, we often miss the peace that God intended for our lives.

God wants us to walk in His peace each day. The thing is, it’s up to us to make the decision to live in peace. We can choose to be upset about what’s going on in the world, or things happening at school instead of being thankful and focusing on what is going right in our lives.

Today’s Truth: You can walk in peace knowing that God loves you!

God loves us and will always take care of us. Today, choose to walk in God’s peace. Choose to live a life full of peace and joy knowing that God will always take care of you!

How many times in life do we get stressed out about something going on? It might be an upcoming test, a relationship with a friend, or some peer pressure you face. It’s easy to internalize those stresses and let them build until they almost feel overwhelming.

However, there’s a better way. That’s what today’s Bible verse talks about. It tells us that we can experience God’s peace. In the midst of the chaos, drama, and things going on around us, we can be at peace. We don’t have to take on the cares and concerns of the world, rather we can hand our concerns to God because we know He cares for us. Once we’ve given God our concerns, we can live in peace.

Choose today to not take on lots of cares and worries. Decide instead to live in God’s peace. Let His peace fill your heart and mind. You can live in peace knowing that God will always take care of you.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – John 16:33

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33 (NIV)

If you flip on the TV, or go online, you see lots of things that can bring fear. It is really easy to see all the horrible things happening in the world and begin to be afraid. No matter how crazy things get in the world around us, God doesn’t want us living our lives in fear.

Fear stops us, holds us back and keeps us from doing the things that God intended for us to do. Instead of being afraid, we should put our trust in Jesus. He will keep us safe. He is there to help us navigate through the troubles and the craziness that life brings.

Have you noticed how crazy life can get sometimes? Maybe you’re concerned about your family gatherings this Christmas. You know that Uncle Henry will probably tell that story about you that is so embarrassing and you just wish that Christmas was already over!

Maybe you’re stressed out about finals, or something going on at school. It’s true, life gets crazy sometimes. And in the midst of the craziness, how do you keep your calm?

Today’s Truth: Jesus Came to Bring Peace to Your Storm

Where do you go in the middle of all the unrest around you? Today’s Bible verse helps us out. It shows us that in Jesus we can find peace. Jesus didn’t deny that we would have trouble. No. He told us there would be trouble in the world. But in the middle of trouble, we could find peace in Him.

Jesus came to bring peace into your life and into your situation.

What are you going through that is bringing you trouble? Take it to Jesus. Ask Him to show you how to find peace in the middle of all the craziness of life. He won’t make your trouble go away, but He will show you a way to go through the midst of it and still have peace in Him.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion on Peace for Teens

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:27 (NIV)

In life, things can get really crazy. From the busyness of sports, jobs, and homework, it’s easy to allow your life to become stressful. And when the stress and pressure of life begin to build up, you can become stressed out to the point where it affects your sleep, relationships and it even steals your joy.

We might live in a stressed out world. But you don’t have to live your life stressed out. Instead, you can choose to rely on God to be your source of peace.

Peace doesn’t come automatically, you’ve got to choose to be at peace, even when things seem difficult.

Today’s Challenge: Practice Peace

It takes work to practice living at peace. Peace won’t happen automatically, you’ve got to choose to walk in it.

God wants to take care of you and provide for all your needs, however, you’ve got to choose to believe it. You’ve got to begin to trust God that He was good plans for your future. If you begin to rely on God and let Him be your peace, then regardless of how things are going around you, you can be at peace.

God wants to be your source of peace. He wants to help you. So if you’re stressed out, today choose to be at peace. Ask God for help. He will show you any adjustments you can make so that your life is less stressful. God wants to be your source, so choose today to lean on Him and let Him be your peace!

Daily Devotion and Daily Bible Verse on Peace

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
 – John 14:27 (NIV)

So much of the time its easy to get upset at what is going on in the world. There’s destruction, wars, famine and tons of other things that try to steal our peace. If we always focus on what’s going wrong in the world, we can easily become upset. However this Bible verse tells us to respond differently.

This Bible verse tells us to not let our hearts be troubled and to not be afraid. Yes, there are crazy things happening in the world, and yes those things can seem scary and overwhelming at times, but our response as Christians shouldn’t be fear.

God’s 4 Overlooked Lifehacks

Youth Devotion, Teen Bible Study, Youth Group Lesson on God's LifehacksLifehacks are awesome! There is nothing better than finding a smarter or more efficient way to do something. One of the best lifehacks I’ve seen is one where you charge a phone without power using a watermelon. It sounds nuts, but its really impressive! I had no idea that a phone could be charged without power. That is just one of hundreds of examples of great lifehacks. Have you ever thought about the fact that God provides us with some lifehacks in the Bible?

God has come up with some great ways to make our lives easier. So let’s check out four of the lifehacks God offers us in his word.

  1. Jesus. This is the most amazing lifehack God provides us with. See our sin keeps us from God. If we’ve sinned in anyway we can’t experience heaven or a relationship with God. God did what we were unable to do. He gave us Jesus who paid the price for our sins. Jesus is the ultimate lifehack. If we will believe that Jesus is Gods son and confess him as our Lord the Bible says we can have eternal life. That is great news. Jesus is the ultimate lifehack!
“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heartthat God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9

  2. Love. It can be really hard to love someone who hasn’t treated you the right way. If someone has been mean to you the last thing on you mind is showing them love and kindness. However, God has you covered in this area. He’s provided you the love you need to be kind to others. The Bible says in Romans 5:5 God has put his love in our hearts.
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” – Romans 5:5 (NIV)
That means God has given you the love you need to be nice to those who give you a hard time or bully you. God gave you the lifehack of love.

  3. Tithing. Tithing is giving 10% of your income to your church. It might seem strange to give such a large part of the money you make to your church. However, it’s amazing how much God is able to bless you as you give. God has a way of providing in supernatural ways for you if you put Him first in your giving.
“The Lord All-Powerful says, “Try this test. Bring one-tenth of your things to me. Put them in the treasury. Bring food to my house. Test me! If you do these things, I will surely bless you. Good things will come to you like rain falling from the sky. You will have more than enough of everything.” – Mal 3:10
Tithing is an awesome lifehack. God tells us to give our money to Him not because he wants to take things from us, but because He wants to get more to us. Tithing puts you into partnership with God. If you choose to tithe you’ll be blessed beyond what you can imagine!

  4. Peace. Most people aren’t living with peace in their lives. They’re stressed out, wondering if they’ll be able to juggle all their priorities. They might be worried if the guy they like will ask them to prom, or if they’ll fail giving their Oral Comm speech. However, if you tap into God’s lifehack of peace, you don’t have to get stressed out like everyone around you. You can keep your cool, knowing that God is on your side. He’s not going to let you down.
If you put your trust in God, He will come through for you. He won’t leave you without hope or without comfort. You can find peace in knowing that the God of the universe is looking out for you!
“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. – John 14:27 (NLT)

God has provided some awesome lifehacks in the Bible. Don’t be afraid to tap into those hacks to get help. Doing things God’s way isn’t always what seems easy or makes sense, but if you follow after God He will reward your life richly!
