Daily Devotion and Daily Bible Verse – Joshua 1:9

Daily Bible Verse August 6

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

We all face situations in life when we feel scared and alone. However, we can take courage from what this Bible verse says. We don’t have to be scared or dismayed because the Lord is with us wherever we go.

Many times we can want to turn away from situations that seem scary or overwhelming. However, we can face those situations with confidence when we begin believing what this verse says. We we begin to believe that we’re not alone and that we’ve got God with us wherever we go we can face any situation. We’ve got God’s help on our side!

Thanks for the encouragement Alex! We usually take the weekends off from posting devos. Since this one was a holiday weekend for us, we took an extra day to be with our family. You should see the devos resume tomorrow! Thanks.

These help me through a lot, thank you for devoting time to do these. It’s kinda odd though because, as I was doing this devotional, Better than a Hallelujah began to play from my playlist haha. Anyway, thank you again.

“We all face situations in life when we feel scared and alone.”
Kind of like the way the inhabitants of Jericho must have felt while Joshua and his army were circling the city waiting to go in and massacre every man, woman, child and living thing.
Joshua was pretty much a mass murderer and ethnic cleanser. Was God there for the women and children of Jericho when Joshua’s army tortured and sliced them to pieces or was God with Joshua? Was God with the parents and little children that Joshua threw in a pit and had burned alive or was God with Joshua? If the later then God has a great deal of blood on his hands. ~ one teen’s rant.
