God’s best for us is that we live at peace. But our world often feels far from peaceful. Much is going on and it can be easy to become troubled, upset, or even afraid.

We have to choose daily to practice peace. Sometimes that means guarding what you watch and hear, so that fear doesn’t build up in your heart. Other times it might mean being aware of who you spend time around so that you don’t become troubled or upset.

Whatever it takes, be on your guard to keep your heart at peace. God wants you to walk in peace even if you’re going through a storm. So look to Him. Spend time reading the Bible and in worship. Really let the presence of God bring peace to your situation.

God’s best for your life is to walk in God’s peace and be able to share that peace with those around you every day.

Many times it’s easy to feel like you’re worthless. Maybe someone said something unkind about you, perhaps you didn’t get invited to a friend’s birthday party and it feels like everyone else did. It’s easy to let the things others do change the way we feel about ourselves.

When our self-esteem is low during these times, we can often get into bad self-talk. You might want to call yourself ugly, fat, or worthless. Speaking words like that over your life isn’t good. You’ve got to watch how you talk about yourself because you have value to God.

Regardless of how others treat you, you can be confident that God sees your value. When you accept Jesus, you’ve been made a child of God. To God you have value. As His child, your life means something and you have worth.

Today’s Truth: You mean something to God and have worth.

So today, if you’ve been overlooked, mistreated, or misunderstood, know that you’re important. God has made you His son or daughter. He didn’t have to do it, but He wanted to. He wanted you to be His child. To God, you’ve got purpose and worth. Choose today to speak and act like the person of value you are.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – Isaiah 26:3

Because he trusts in You. – Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)

Peace is something we could all use from time to time. Our world seems to have no shortage of things to cause us to not be at peace.

Maybe things are not going well for you at school, and you just wish something would change to help you be at peace. Perhaps things at home aren’t great, and it just seems like everywhere you turn you’re searching for something to help you stay at peace.

The good news is that as children of God, we can live at peace. Today’s verse tells us that if we can keep our minds on God and trust Him, we can live in peace.

That’s often easier to say than to do. It’s easy to look at all the bad stuff going around and let the troubles of life bring you unrest. However, if you’ll spend more time in God’s presence, listening to a worship song, or reading your Bible, you’ll find it’s easier to be at peace.

So challenge yourself to practice peace today. Determine to be at peace in every situation and circumstance. Not because you don’t have trouble, but rather because you know God and trust Him to help you through.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – Romans 5:8

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8 (KJV)

One of the most interesting parts of the gospel to me is that God gave Jesus to us while we were sinners. We weren’t made right with God and then God loved us. Instead, Jesus died and when we weren’t right with God and then Jesus made us right.

There is no one that acts like that. No one goes out of their way to help someone when they’re an enemy. And yet, that’s what God did for us.

It makes me so thankful for the goodness of God, when I realize that Jesus loved me when I had nothing to offer Him. Hopefully, this makes you grateful too. Knowing that you are loved by God even when you were unlovely to Him is so powerful. God loved you and made you right with Him.

Today, realize that you’re loved and that God has good plans for you.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – Romans 5:1

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, – Romans 5:1 (NIV)

Do you have a sibling? If so, you probably are used to a lack of peace. Sometimes siblings just like to irritate you, don’t they? They know all the things that make you mad, and then just seem to do only those things. With a sibling, you probably don’t experience much peace.

The good news is, regardless of how your siblings treat you, you do have peace with God. That is the kind of peace that really matters.

Peace with God is different than the peace of God. Yes, you can walk in the peace of God, but peace with God is something really special. Peace with God means that you now have access to God. You can talk to Him, and He hears you and loves you. No longer is your sin held against you.

This is such good news for us to remember. Regardless of how difficult those days with your siblings might be, you have peace with God. And that should help encourage you to maybe love your siblings a little more. Because you know that you’ve been forgiven from sin and now have peace with God.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – Galatians 3:27-28

for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

– Galatians 3:27-28

Sometimes you can feel limited based on your weaknesses. However, these two verses explain that now that you are a Christian, it doesn’t matter.  We all are now on a level playing field with God. Jesus leveled the field and made each of us significant in Him.

We no longer need to compare ourselves to others or feel that we do not measure up. God offers the same goodness and benefits of knowing Him regardless of who you are and where you’ve come from.

Today’s Truth: Choose to let Jesus be the source of your identity.

Today, ask God to show you in the Bible all the things you now are now that you are in Christ. Choose to allow Jesus to be the source of your identity.

Daily Bible Verse and Devotion – Esther 4:14

If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” – Esther 4:14 (NLT)

The account in the Bible of Esther is amazing. However, it can be really easy to read her accounts in the Bible and long to do something big for God. But then you begin to wonder, how do I start? And what should I do?

We can see from the life of Esther that she just did what she saw she could do. She saw that she could go talk to the king about the situation that the Jews were facing. And Esther did it, even though she was a little nervous about it.

The same is true for you. Often doing something BIG for God starts by doing something SMALL you can see to do. Big things don’t always start big. They start as you are willing to take one little step that you can see in front of you.

That’s what Esther did. She did what she could see to do in her life to help her people. And that small thing (talking to the king) turned into the exact thing her people needed to be rescued.

So today, don’t be discouraged if what you see to do in front of you looks small. Just do the step you see to do. As you do, the small thing turns often turns into a big thing.

The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. – Psalm 32:8 (NLT)

I’ve eaten candy bars before. I’ve eaten Kit Kats and they were ok, I’ve had Nerds and they’re good too. However, I’ve tried Peanut Butter M&M’s and they were the best. Some candy is ok, and then there are some candies that are just better.

In life, there’s a difference between things that are just ok and things that are the best. The same is true with God. There are ok pathways you can take for your life. Many decisions aren’t bad, they just aren’t the best. God wants to show you the best path for your life.

Today’s Truth: God wants to show you the best pathway for your life.

Finding that best pathway takes spending time with God. You’ve got to be open to what He has to say and not be too busy with social media or Netflix to hear Him. Spending time with God helps you know Him better and be ready to hear what He has to speak concerning your future.

God knows you better than anyone. He knows what things will bring you peace. If you’ll trust Him and His leading, you’ll be able to go down the best pathway for your life. So today, decide to lay aside those things that are keeping you from spending time with God. Choose to be real with Him and let Him show you the best path for your life.

What’s something in your life that you wouldn’t trade for any amount of money? Is there something special your grandma gave to you? A great memory you have with your dad? What is that one thing that is really precious to you?

In today’s Bible verse, it describes the Bible in that way. It says that it is more precious than gold.

Why? Because the Bible describes to us the meaning of life. It gives us clues to our value, and our purpose. Without the Bible, we’d be helpless and without hope.

The Bible is precious because it’s a book like no other. It is God speaking to us. It’s truth. In every situation you face, God’s word has the answer you need. So if you haven’t, get into it. Learn from it and let God’s word become more precious to you than anything else.

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. – Psalm 19:9 (NIV)

Has reading the Bible ever seemed boring, not relevant or just overwhelming to you? If you say yes, you’re not alone. It can seem like a huge task to spend time reading your Bible. Especially when social media is way more interesting.

However, God’s word is important. The Bible tells us that all of the decrees of the Lord are firm and righteous. That means that God’s word should be important to us.

It’s in God’s word we find meaning for life when life seems hopeless. The Bible shows us our worth and gives us meaning for life. All the things we see around us come back to the Bible. The Bible makes sense of the world around us.

So today, take some time to spend in the Bible. Whether it’s listening to it being read to you on your phone or reading the physical copy, make time for it. Let it speak to you and bring truth into your life.
