Habakkuk 1 shows a young prophet asking the kind of raw, honest questions many teens have: “Why do you let injustice win?” (Habakkuk 1:2–4). Habakkuk didn’t pretend everything was okay. He brought anger, confusion, and disappointment straight to God. Instead of scolding him for asking, God answered. Isn’t that amazing? That God wanted to speak to Habakkuk and answer his questions.
When God answered, the answer wasn’t a quick fix. Instead, it revealed God’s bigger plan, which involved surprising tools and timing Habakkuk didn’t expect (Habakkuk 1:5–11).
If you’re frustrated about unfairness at school, broken friendships, or rules that don’t make sense, take a page from Habakkuk: bring it to God honestly. God doesn’t mind your tough questions. He invites you into a conversation. Habakkuk’s questions led him to wait, watch, and ultimately worship. Often, as you ask God questions about your doubts your faith grows and is strengthened.
Today’s Truth: God welcomes your honest questions.
God welcomes your questions. He’s ready to give you answers for the things that you question in your world. Asking those tough questions helps you grow, and strengthens your faith in God.
Prayer:
God, help me bring my doubts to You honestly. Thanks for always responding and listening. In Jesus’ name, amen.
