Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. – Deuteronomy 6:5 (NIV)
“All in”. When I think of this, I’m usually thinking of some activity, like music or sports. If you’re all in for soccer, it means that you get up early in the morning to workout. You eat healthy foods, lift weights, and work on your skills and the fundamentals. Usually when you’re really focused on a sport or activity, it consumes your thoughts too. You’re watching videos to improve in your free time, and also figuring out what it is you can do to get better.
We understand this in terms of getting better at a sport or musical instrument. But what about the things of God?
Do we ever take time to wonder if we’re all in when it comes to God? Have we let God consume our thoughts? Do we try to understand the Bible more and get closer to Him? Do we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength?
Sometimes we get busy in life and we forget what truly matters. God. His kingdom. What He wants to do in our hearts and our lives. We get so busy trying to do better in school or work on improving our skills that we forget its all for Him and His glory. Our lives should be lived for Him because He created us and loves us.
So today challenge yourself to look to Him. Let heavenly things occupy your heart, thoughts, and energy. Give place to God and you’ll find that you’ll experience His peace and love in ways you never knew possible.
