praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints – Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV)
It’s sometimes easier to not pray. Prayer can seem weird. There can be times when you don’t know what to say. Also, sometimes its easier to talk to someone you can see, than to talk to God who you can’t see. So how do you go about making prayer a habit in your life?
A great way to do that is to just simply start. Don’t worry about whether you say the right things or the wrong things. Just start. Talk to God. Tell Him about your day. Ask for help or wisdom for something difficult that you’re facing. Pray. Don’t worry too much about the rules or saying the right thing. Talk to God. He wants to hear from you.
Yes, there’s all kinds of ways to pray, and it’s good to make sure that you spend some time thanking God for the blessings in your life and things like that, but many times, it’s just best to simply pray out what’s in your heart and what’s concerning you right now.
God wants a relationship with you more than for you to pray the right way. He just wants to fellowship and have you get to know Him. The more you pray, the easier it will become. Also, as you get more comfortable, you can look into some of the scriptures about praying and learn more. But to start, don’t worry about doing it right, just pray. Take a few minutes when you first wake up, or while you’re trying to fall asleep at night and begin to make prayer a part of your life each day.
The more you pray, the easier it becomes.
