March 13, 2013 at 8:43 pmI learned that it’s ok to fail, as long as you pick yourself back up and try again.
I’ve learned that it takes more than just talent to get anywhere, you have to put in the effort and you will eventually get what you want.
A positive way to look at a failure would be to look at it as a learning experience.
Mickayla

June 30, 2013 at 10:18 pmEvery time I tell one of my friends about trusting and believing in The Lord they stop talking to me and then they won’t hang out with me. What should I do?
sandy
July 1, 2013 at 8:49 pmWow, Kinsey! I know exactly what you mean! That same thing happened to me! I then began praying that God would give me friends who understood what it meant to be a Christian. I kept being kind and friendly to the ones who kind of dissed me. And it happened, I got some new friends that I could really be myself around and share my feelings about Jesus with. Some of the others then would come to me when they had something dramatic going on in their lives, and then I got to share more with them. Hope the same happens to you!
Emily
July 15, 2015 at 8:14 pmAlthough your friends may not want to listen at first, you have planted seeds. Pray to God that He will, in His grace water those seeds. Also pray for your friends before you talk to them about your faith. Pray that God will open their hearts. Know no matter what others think God knows the intentions of your heart and will reward you.
Amber
July 1, 2013 at 11:44 pmKinsey –
Sandy’s thoughts are really great! Its better to stand up for what you believe in and tell others about Jesus, even if some friends ditch you. I had a similar thing happen to me when I was a freshmen. I found out later that my friends really respected me for standing up for what I believed even though it seemed like they were leaving me out. Keep doing what you know is right, it will pay off in the end. I’ll be praying for you!
Kinsey
July 2, 2013 at 2:20 pmthanks amber and sandy for those tips. I have some friends that are Mormon and every time I say something about the lord they say it is not true. I have thought to be friends and class mates that have kissed, dated, and they swear all the time. I don’t do that so then they forget about me. Through these struggles of mine it doesn’t seem like something in the end is going to be good
Amber
July 7, 2013 at 6:01 pmHey Kinsey! Those are some tough things to deal with. I know I went through a time where I felt exactly like you did. I felt like my friends were doing bad stuff and I was the only one who was doing the ‘right’ thing.
Here’s a scripture that encouraged me a lot: “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9 NLT)
Keep doing the right thing, even if its tough!

December 26, 2013 at 12:39 pmGreat write, very good point and essential point to prayer as well. You may want to do a little editing because the verse referred to is actually Luke 11.. and not Luke 1, the completely changes the meaning if someone were to look up your reference verse on there on especially if its not of the msg bible

January 19, 2014 at 4:58 amHi:) I love reading the articles but I was wondering, about this one on who we should pray to, I’ve pretty much always started off my prayers with dear Jesus… Is this wrong?
studentdevos
January 20, 2014 at 9:23 pmHey Rhiannon – We think you’re doing awesome praying, “Dear Jesus” if that’s what you feel comfortable with. The devo was meant to emphasize the fact that you should be praying using the name of Jesus, not using the name of Mary or praying to a saint. It sounds like you’re right on track by praying to Jesus! Keep up the good work and thanks for checking out the devo!

February 23, 2014 at 2:45 amSuperman would have just flown really fast around the world and made time go backwards, then he would have zapped the tree of knowledge with his heat vision and thus remove the chance of a fall in the first place, rewriting history and save millions and billions of people who died due to god’s wrath.
Whyd god put the tree there in the first place anyways?

February 23, 2014 at 2:51 amIf Jesus knew everything and was a teacher why didn’t he teach anything useful? Like how to make a car? Or where illness comes from (its germs not demons)? Or why we should respect women? Or why its wrong to own slaves?

March 10, 2014 at 4:25 pmI learned a very important lesson that God is not responsible for the bad things that happens to me. I’m suppose to trust him and have faith in his Word, not let the devil deceive me into doing things that might seem good at first but at a point in time everything goes wrong. God has a devine plan for me and for everybody, but for him to achieve it I have a part to play to get there no matter what because I have faith that it will surely come to pass. This faith could be destroyed by the devil, because he has no love for us he uses us because he only comes to steal kill and destroy(John 10:10) I learned a very important lesson that God is not responsible for the bad things that happens to me. I’m suppose to trust him and have faith in his Word, not let the devil deceive me into doing things that might seem good at first but at a point in time everything goes wrong.

December 7, 2014 at 8:56 pmI agree Rashmi. Bad things are all satans doings. like when parents get divorces, its because satan tempted one parent into doing something until finally the other parent has had enough.

March 26, 2014 at 6:41 amI know bad things happen to good people, but God isn’t the one who makes it happen. I think it’s free will. God doesn’t look down on us and say, “I think I want you to get in a car accident.” Just like God doesn’t make us love him, because it wouldn’t be true love. But the bad things that do happen to us are tests.

May 28, 2014 at 9:10 pmI know I messed up really big and hurt a lot of people unintentionally in the process. I have always had a rather rebellious attitude and I have done some pretty bad things that I regret. I’ve never really accepted the notion of a God, and because of that, I didn’t care to restrict my actions. My behaviors lead me into some dark stuff, inlcuding four years of self harm and about two years with an eating disorder.
It wasn’t until someone came into my life and introduced me to God and tried to help me turn my life around that I began to accept God. Before, I couldn’t believe a God would let me live the way I did and have me raised the way I was. This person invited me to church and would tell me everything he preacher said that might help me.
I started to finally get better…that is until I slipped up. I got in trouble and dragged my friend down with me, and to this day, he still won’t even look at me. I miss him so much, but I believe with God and time, things will eventually work out.
By the way, I am 148 consecutive and successful days into recovery.

August 26, 2014 at 12:30 pmI understand what you’re trying to say here, on how to not grow resentful towards the idea of sexual purity but sexual purity isn’t an option, God tells us to remain sexually pure until we are married. Being a Christian isn’t about doing what feels comfortable and always makes sense in your head, he wants us to die to our flesh daily and abide by his word.
studentdevos
August 26, 2014 at 4:16 pmShealee –
Thanks for bringing that point up. We were trying to address a problem we’ve seen where a teenager takes a purity pledge because of peer pressure and later resents it or feels like they are going to hell because they broke the pledge. The point here was to make the decision to be pure out of a love for and a relationship with God, not because someone was pressuring them into it.
God does tell us in His word to be pure, and that’s His best for our lives! Thanks for your thoughts!

November 15, 2014 at 5:08 amMarjorie – I can relate to what you’re going through. I went through something really similar a few years ago. Its tough when you feel all alone. I read a book that really helped me get through a similar tough time. Here’s the link to it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/You-Are-Gods-Best-Classic/dp/0879431342/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416049501&sr=8-1&keywords=you+are+God%27s+best let me know if you have trouble buying it, or don’t have the money. I can see if our church bookstore has a copy and send it with Mrs. Sharar. Andy went through a similar time when he felt all alone. You can listen to his story here: https://studentdevos.com/how-to-survive-a-sucker-put-down-your-back/ .

November 15, 2014 at 8:26 pmnot very well amber he told me he didn’t want to be friends
amber
November 17, 2014 at 8:47 pmMy advice is to think long term about all this. 3 years from now, you will probably be in a new area with new friends and will not hardly remember this guys name. Also, think outside of yourself and reach out to people around you. If you want friends, be friendly. Not doing it to look cool or impress. Just be a friend. Look out to others who might be lonely and often are not popular and start being a friend to them. Several years after high school you’ll not care if you were cool or accepted. You’ll think about times where you were a true friend to the unpopular and those who needed a true friend. Hope you get something out of this. God bless, Amber

May 15, 2015 at 8:00 pmfeel free to email me (if it even shows up to you). I think we could have a great conversation. In the past year and a half I have been diagnosed with countless medical conditions, lost all of my friends, and was told I would never live a normal life again. You know what I did? Cried. A lot. And then after a few months of wallowing in my sorrow (which many people with my conditions do), I said heck with this!! And I prayed. A lot. At first I couldn’t even focus because I was in so much pain and my prayers began as “Lord please help me get through this song, I want to worship you.” And slowly but surely, with faith alone I’m sure of it, I gained strength. I’m now a full functioning high school sophomore and I was recently accepted to an advanced, residential high school for my junior and senior year. Don’t give up. Don’t lose hope. AJ you can do it and I would love to give you some more great verses and advice. (This response is three months late haha sorry). Anyone else in need of encouragement can email me also. Heads up guys, we got the best guardian watching over us! He’s got it!

March 30, 2015 at 9:38 amThis devotion is wrong. God says we will decompose and he will take our spirit. spirit means charachter and thoughts. He restores us withour spirit in his second coming. we go to hevan with him for 1000 years, with satan locked on our earth with the bad people. then, we will come down in the new jerusalem, god will burn the earth and all the sin and make a new earth. We live with him for eternity. This is all in Revalation.

March 30, 2015 at 9:20 pmYou bring up some good points. I didn’t go into as much detail as I could have. The post could have been titled, “What happens to a Christian when they die” to be more clear and then go into more of the details as you explain here. Thanks for your comment!

April 14, 2015 at 5:03 pmI looked on your website to find inspiration. I am writing a devo book for teens. It will be based on the chapters of John. I’m a teenager myself, but I’m not into things that other teenagers are onto. How do I reach to teens through my devo book? Have any ideas? Please respond back.
amber
April 20, 2015 at 1:47 pmHey Sabrina –
Its awesome that you want to write devos for teens. I’d just encourage you to go ahead and get started writing them. Don’t wait until you have it all figured out before you get going on it. Grab a journal and start writing your devo ideas down. Maybe as you go, it will become clear to you what the next step is for your devos. Don’t let yourself believe a lie that your devos won’t connect with other teens. That just isn’t true. If God has put the idea of a devo book in your heart, then there’s an audience for what you have to say. Continue to ask God for wisdom and what the next step is to take, but I’d encourage you to just begin writing your ideas down now.

May 31, 2015 at 1:22 amI really appreciate you posting devotionals from God’s word. It has helped me out and has helped many others I’m sure. I do have a question about your comments on salvation. I noticed it doesn’t include anything on baptism. There are several verses in the Bible that talk about the necessity of baptism in regards to salvation (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, I Peter 3:21, Romans 6). I was wondering why you left that out? It seems to me that God’s word makes it pretty clear that baptism is essential to salvation.
Nathan
August 25, 2016 at 9:53 amGreat question, Dillon. I was wondering the same thing. To my recollection, every conversion in Acts ends with baptism.

October 5, 2015 at 10:51 pmMe and my 3 kids (ages 12,14,16) found this website several months ago, we do the devotions together nightly. 90% of the time they have dealt directly with something we are facing in one of our lives. Tonights message is exactly what we needed at exactly the right time. My husband of 17 years had divorce papers served on me today. He has chosen the life of sin and adultery. I still pray that God can soften his heart and change his heart.
Anyone that reads this comment – I want you to pray for this country, pray for families. We are entering scary times ahead and temptation will be around every corner but with God on your side you can flee from any temptation, the devil has already lost, don’t give him power over your life.
Liam

October 12, 2015 at 9:19 pmThanks I just found this website and I’m in a gray area in my relationship with God where sometimes he’s the most important thing to me and other times he’s so far away from my mind. I’ve been struggling with a certain kind of addiction and it in silence hasn’t helped in my relationship with God..sometimes I break down because I get tired of apologizing so many times I seem to disbelieve the sincerity of it sometimes, but bow it’s good to find this place where I can get my bearing and seek strength..thanks!!

October 27, 2015 at 2:33 amFor the past week I’ve been struggling with depression. Life has been so horrible to me and I just couldn’t take it anymore. A few nights ago I cut. And every night since then until now. I’m still struggling with depression but the blades are gone. I have no idea where they went, but Jesus took them away. I went to cut today, and well I wanted to cut a lot. And just the night before I wrote in my prayer box (it’s a box I write all my prayer requests in) “I need You right now, I’m so broken. And I need help, I don’t know what to do anymore. Help me please.” And today. The blades are gone.
If you are reading this and going through a difficult time. GOD DOES MIRACULOUS THINGS!! He has saved me from.. Who knows what.. I probably would’ve killed myself today if it wasn’t for Him. MIRACLES ARE REAL!!

December 27, 2015 at 5:58 pmI don’t believe Joe B exists, or if he does , he didn’t write the comment above. It’s all made up bull.
Joe B
December 30, 2015 at 6:47 pmJoe B (me) exists because there is actual evidence for my existence, which is more than I can say for the Christian God. If I didn’t write the comment, who else did? There’s obviously a comment because you just read it and responded to it. If you actually think that claims for a person’s existence is the same as claiming the existence of an infinitely powerful, omniscient, magical super-being who inexplicably manufactured the universe and everything in it by pure force of will… for intellectual obtuseness you take the cake.
Paige
July 18, 2017 at 12:39 pmDear Joe B,
With God things can be confusing. Yes you may not be able to physically see him or touch him but you can see his work. After all he did create you. I don’t know about your life or what may have happened in your life to know why you say he doesn’t exist but God is all round you. You have to be opened to find him. He’s there with you. In the air, the wind, earth, water, the list goes on. Even though its not how you think you’re supposed to see to God to know he is real you got to faith that he is. He wants you to lean on him for all your needs. He wants you to feel the love that he has for you but you have got to want to see that he does exists. No one can make you see him the only thing we as Christians can do is to share our testimonies and pray that you have questions afterwords. With much Love, you have great day.
Nariah

May 13, 2016 at 10:57 pmEverything you said was true failure wasn’t bad thing because it teach you to good in your life ,but sometimes you think that ,than you said I can do this but some of us don’t think that because they try learn from their mistakes it just make them feel like they were not part of this life or they just want to find themself were they belong .

May 22, 2016 at 10:37 pmGrammar is important. You need “too” not “to” when you go “too far.” But the real question is … “What is too far? — What do you mean by “messing up” sexually? Is your definition of messing up applicable to one age (or age group) as opposed to another? Please clarify when going too far in the eyes of humans is OK in the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ. If one is mature enough to share her/his Love with another (of the same disposition) for the sake of finding out more about the nature of our Creator, then I feel this sharing with our Lord Jesus Christ would be most welcome in Heaven.

June 10, 2016 at 12:38 pmThese are not quite right. First, If your relationship is pushing you towards things you wouldn’t normally do, there’s a good chance you’re in love, because you are doing things simply to be with your significant other. If the things you are being pushed towards doing make you uncomfortable, you may still be in love, but it might not be a very healthy relationship. The church test is really dependent on various variables, such as: Are you easily embarrassed? If you are, your embarrassment talking about what you do with your girlfriend/boyfriend may not be a bad thing. If you are embarrassed because what you are doing with them is a sin, then you still might be in love, but again, it’s not very healthy, at least in a spiritual sense. As for the Family test, it has the same flaws as the other ones: It doesn’t really determine if you’re in love, but whether your relationship is healthy. If your relationship isn’t healthy should you call it off? That depends (and no, I’m not talking about adult diapers). If the relation ship is only hurting you spiritually, it may be worth trying to fix it, with the happy result of winning a brother/sister for Christ, and being much happier. If your relationship is hurting you emotionally and/or physically, you are better calling it off.

June 13, 2016 at 4:43 pmI think often youth are discouraged when it comes to fear, and sometimes fear is rather crippling. This lesson shows that in God and His love, there is no fear, and that is something we all need reminded of.

September 16, 2016 at 2:11 pm“We all face situations in life when we feel scared and alone.”
Kind of like the way the inhabitants of Jericho must have felt while Joshua and his army were circling the city waiting to go in and massacre every man, woman, child and living thing.
Joshua was pretty much a mass murderer and ethnic cleanser. Was God there for the women and children of Jericho when Joshua’s army tortured and sliced them to pieces or was God with Joshua? Was God with the parents and little children that Joshua threw in a pit and had burned alive or was God with Joshua? If the later then God has a great deal of blood on his hands. ~ one teen’s rant.

December 3, 2016 at 2:30 pmSo inspiring yet so true. Those around us have a huge impact on our lives but it’s so hard to notice it unless you take a step back and realise. Be around those that inspire you to be better not those who put you of course in life and where you want to be.

January 18, 2017 at 6:43 amThis is true but being an African American we have a reason to fear….. lets not forget about police brutality and racial profiling against people of color. We need a devotional to help us stay strong during this time when. We are being killed for simply being black.

January 27, 2017 at 1:34 amWow, I felt like God was speaking through the author of this devotional. I stumbled upon this at 11:30 pm, and this was so helpful. I am a sophomore in college studying music education who has doubts about whether this is where I am most helpful, where I am best using my gifts. I need to pray about this more.
Regardless of whether I stay on this path or not, I know that I am not a person who gives up easily. I learned from this past year that failure does not make me this in the towel- it pushes me to try harder. I want to be a blessing, I want to be needed. I am reminded that Christ doesn’t need us, but he desires us to the point of death. His choice made my choice to choose life forever possible. Thanks you Jesus!

March 22, 2017 at 3:29 pmBeautiful verses but how does one reconcile this with the words of Jesus in Matthew 10?
34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
“ ‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

March 24, 2017 at 10:16 pmGood question. It won’t make much sense if you weren’t a part of the situation, but it was Acts 26:14 – “All of us fell to the ground, and I heard a voice asking me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me? It is hurting you to keep on kicking against the cattle prods.’

April 2, 2017 at 8:50 pmThat is what everyone should do and I admit, when I am bored I text a friend or play a game and I don’t take the only 5 minutes in the day for God and that is bad because your not letting him in your life like guiding you to the good things in life instead you might run into things for not listening to him. Maybe for now one we should take those 5 minutes or more and listen to him, let him into your heart and love him.

April 21, 2017 at 3:25 pmYou know god is real when you hear his voice and see his face right?Wrong you know god is real when you accept him in your heart and 100% truly feel his working through you.I’m not saying I’m perfect, I’ve sinned and hurt people verbally, and cheated and lied and accused but I have tried so hard to make up for it and I have but that doesn’t take away what I have done god does, because he loves and he saves and he heals and he knows and he sees and it is he who reigns.God sent Jesus down to die for our sins all throughout his adult life he was accused and threatened and hated and tortured when put on a cross and being nailed and given vinegar to drink instead of water. And he literally took in all of our sins to save us.So am I just someone saying something on the internet could god not be real maybe but I doubt he isn’t and if he is ide rather go through life believing that there’s a loving, caring, wise god protecting me than fear there isn’t.

April 28, 2017 at 9:40 ami have a friend that feels lost. She said she has felt this way for years. I’m trying to reach out for her but she keeps refusing my help. All i can do now is pray for her. When i pray i declare what i pray and mean it. I have asked God to take it out of my hands because it is hurting me. May 14, 2017 at 9:55 am“Take some time today to thank God for everything He has made.”
Thank God? Anyone who worships such a cruel, unmerciful God, who brutally murders countless innocent men, women and children with earthquakes and tsunamis, is a maniac.

There are a lot of things in this world that we may never understand why they happen. However, taking the time to read the Bible, God’s perfect Word for us, will help you understand that God is truly a loving and wonderful God. He is not a cruel tyrant that intends harm for us. The Bible says that we, the human race, are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are not an after thought and none of us are “mistakes”. God knows exactly how each of us is made and how we think. He created us to have free will to make our own decisions in life, including having faith that He is who He is; or not believing at all. But He wants a relationship with all of us, not just a thought that he exists. He loves us so much that Jesus was sent to the cross to pay a price that we as humans could never pay. His blood being shed was the only way to cover the sins of all mankind throughout eternity. That includes those who will believe and those who will not. Jesus was and is perfect and we are not.
This earth and all living things are not meant to last forever. This earth will eventually crumble. But death is not the end. I believe with all my heart that there is eternity to face after death and where we spend it is based on whether we accept through faith that Christ Jesus is Lord of All. The Bible says that those who truly seek will find Jesus to be who He says He is. Faith in a living Christ Jesus is the difference between spending eternity in heaven with Him, or eternity in hell with Satan. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:17
God did not take the time to create us the way he did just to destroy and/or torment us. I hope that you will take the time to really seek Him and not just choose to continue with the hopeless thought that God is hateful because He is the God of hope. He knows who you are and wants you to find out just how much He loves you.

May 25, 2018 at 2:18 amThis world full of suffering and pain was never Gods intention for human kind. It started out with a perfect world free of sin and death and filled with Joy and gladness. This is a clear indication that God had wonderful plans for the world. But these plans were truncated by sin and the consequences of sin is sorrow. You’d probably wonder why God is making us pay for the sins of Adam and Eve. Does it mean that he doesn’t love us? Not at all. God loves us so much that he looked down on this sinful world and sent His ONLY son Jesus Christ to die for us. So that we have hope of a much better life someday, in Heaven. Where there is no sorrow or pain. I was very hurt to see that you think God is mean and cruel when He is the very opposite. I really hope that your misconception on who God is changes. He’s not Zeus that strikes people down to destroy them. He is pained by the perishing of his people and the bible tells us that. This is why he gives us the greatest consolation, heaven. This is our hope and consolation as Christians.

April 12, 2018 at 5:34 pmHOW DARE YOU!!! God is NOT dead. Sin is what causes those stuff, not God. God wants us to make our own desisions. You were created by God in your mothers womb. You are loved by God so so much! He wants you to come to him and repent for your sins. We are very sinfull. Ever since Eve took the serpents advise, this world had been cursed. But when God comes again he will judge the living and the dead. The people in heaven will be celebrating and the people in hell will rot in sin forever and ever. BTW watch your language.

April 23, 2019 at 10:47 pmWell maybe bad things do happen but God will always be there for us.
God also gives us the good things I mean think of anything that pleases you I’m sure you can think of a lot God made all of those things
God always has reasons for what he does, we may not know them yet but everything that God does is for a good reason
I had a grandpa who I didn’t know very well, he died in November. If he hadn’t passed away then I never would’ve known him as much as i do now like i had no idea that he loved basketball as much as me or that he had wavy hair just like me. He was also in a lot of pain so I would rather him be in heaven rather than here in pain
Sincerely,
Molly B
Jesus loves you all✝️✝️

July 19, 2017 at 2:17 pmI personally don’t believe that we will most likely date multiple people before we date the one we are supposed to marry. I believe that if we listen to the Lord, he’ll guide us to the one who he made just for us to bring glory to his name without giving our hearts away to multiple people beforehand. Thanks for the post!

September 22, 2017 at 7:48 pmHi Andy and Amber! What a great website! Thank you so much for writing and putting up all these devotions, and then making them available. I work with some young people at church, and I was thinking of recommending that they sign up for emails of your devotions. Just doing my due diligence, I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing a little bit about your faith background, and which church/denomination you worship in? Sorry to be so nosy, I’m just trying to be responsible in my recommendations. Thanks so much.
I’m an evangelical that’s at an Episcopal Church (I know, shocking) in California, trying to make sure that the few young people we have in our congregation have the chance to know Jesus in a life giving way. Thanks again!

September 25, 2017 at 8:00 pmHey Kevin – Good questions. We’re (student devos) not affiliated with any church or denomination. We (Andy and Amber) do attend a non-denominational church. We don’t pretend to be Bible scholars just want to write some devos to encourage students in their walk with God. Everything we put out is firmly based in the Bible and we use scripture to back up whatever we say. Hopefully that helps answer some of your questions! God bless in your work with young people at your church!

October 21, 2017 at 11:07 amTo be honest, I was covered with fear and worries before reading this. Being a student and knowing your parents are hoping to give your best is difficult. I was pressured because of the society and what it dictates me to do. This devotion serves as an eye opener to me. Refreshing my heart and my mind that God would never leave me, and of course to be thankful. Thank you God for reminding me that you will do anything for me, and all I need is just to focus to you and to the positive things in my life. God bless to the writer of this devotion.

December 30, 2017 at 2:22 pmI’m a really negative person, I have really negative thoughts and always say negative things about myself that aren’t true. Now that I’ve read this I think that this might be the reason why I fall down so often in my spiritual life. I love these devos so much, because they seem to always speak to whatever I’m going through. I used to think I was the only person that went through these type of things and devotions never really spoke to me. But, now after waiting a while the devotions have started to really speak to me and they help me get through struggles in my life. People always said you have to be patient and I thought that maybe no matter how patient I was nothing would ever come through to me, but now they do.

January 10, 2018 at 6:53 pmNice. Me and my class read this together during math class. We have this new tablet thing where most of our curriculum goes on the tablet, like homework, warmups, and weekly devotionals. We’re so lucky to go to a Christian school! Our teacher makes us write a complete six sentence paper about the devotional, but it’s not too bad. We do those on tablets too!

January 12, 2018 at 1:29 pmYou are making up the words of God! Starting with leaving out a VERY BIG word in John 3:16 “SO”
You really need to STOP this NOW. You are CHOPPING UP JESUS The WORD that became flesh and dwelt among us

January 22, 2018 at 11:06 pmI love this devotion because I see people putting themselves down daily. And, they say they want change, but they never do anything to try to change it, the world won’t change for you, you have to change it. And the very first step towards this, is changing your perspective, do this, and the rest will follow. Whenever the hard times are on you, don’t let that be reflected in your words, if you use your mouth to spread kindness, it will surely be spread back to you.

January 23, 2018 at 11:58 pmThis devotional reminds me of the lesson that is all to often forgotten, that we are not able to break habits on our own. We tell ourselves that we will keep away from whatever it is we need to stop doing, but to no avail. Once we realize and understand that we alone can not break our strong habits, we can hand them over to God. With God in our corner we can accomplish anything, and suddenly the task of breaking those habits will diminish to nothing at all. No matter how bad the situation may be, God almighty can always lift you up out of it, you just need to trust that he will.

January 24, 2018 at 10:33 pmThis devotion is true in many ways. Although you may have a rough outline of who the person you are dating might be like, you never know for sure what they’re true personality is. If you want to start a good, healthy relationship, you need to start with god. If you feel guilty when you are around your crush or significant other, and feel ashamed to let people see that you are together, it’s probably not a very good relationship (this is not true of all cases, of course, you may just need to talk with them). If you feel good about out who you are with, understand each others boundaries, and are willing to let the world know that you are a couple, congratulations, you have probably found someone good for you. God will give you signs if your relationship is going down the wrong path, it’s our decision wether or not to acknowledge them. If your relationship is good, clean, and healthy, you will feel right with God when you are with them. God does not shame being in a relationship, he wants you to find love, and when you do, it will feel right.

January 25, 2018 at 11:04 pmThis devotion is very sry true, people say they are Christian, but then never fully devote to god. This is one of the hardest things for people to do, to trust in something they can’t see. But if you. Start to look into god’s word, it will become easier and easier to have faith. When you fully surrender yourself to the will of God, your soul will be lifted of its burdens, and you will be free to fly. So read I implore you, read gods holy word until it is engraved in your brain, and live through that precious scripture.

February 8, 2018 at 3:10 pmThis verse is really good about telling you that if you give a gift or even something small your gift will return to you in full and right into your lap. The smaller or bigger you give will determine what you get back so the more you give you get back the amount or more. I feel that’s what people don’t understand giving is a good thing and sometimes we like to be selfish and we shouldn’t be that way.

March 27, 2018 at 11:40 pmYou re’right beloved.Words offcourse are very powerful positively or negetively.God Himself started, created ,hanged, healed every thing/people with words-Gen 1.Mk 5.Words are powerful because it works in unity with Holy Spirits or evil spirits depending on whether evil or good words-Ephe.6 .17.Jesus said in Mt 12.37 by your words you are justified or condernmed .Many are in grave ,hospital, confusions, fears,in hatreds, divisions ,divorces, evacuations and lost one another due to words they received or speak.Words come from heart condition direct to tongue then enters to the ears with good or evil spirit.Jesus said ‘out of the aboundant of the heart the mouth speaks’.All of us must repent, call it a sin and tell God to heal your heart and tongue.THEN CHANGE WHAT YOU HEAR.

June 21, 2018 at 8:29 pmHR I can really understand where you’re coming from. I felt so unloveable for so many years. However, the great thing about God is that His love isn’t based on what you do. He loves you the same no matter what you do. He sees your value where others don’t. He made you and knows you. Ask Him to reveal to you the depth of His love and He will! Check out Psalm 139:14 and Eph 3:17-19. Those scriptures should help you! Praying for you. You are loved by God!

October 7, 2018 at 3:00 amSounds soooo simple. Oh, and all the emphasis on self discipline for the Christian. But….. it takes time and expiriences with God, so that my self must diminish and His life becomes who I am. His Spirit must grow and become my life. We must be careful not to encourage the young in that self discipline is the equal of Spirit led.

October 7, 2018 at 3:25 amI go to church.
In some places, churches band with other denominations and form groups to do things together. Where I live, you are strongly discouraged to associate with another faith.
Your comments are true: but churches can be cliquey, don’t grow spiritually, live separately from other churches/ denominations, etc. Read Paul’s books. Then listen to God’s voice/Spirit. He will lead you …….. if you let Him.

March 26, 2019 at 4:17 amI have a teenager who wants to know what is the point if God knows what we do before we do it , then what’s the point. Why pray for our dad to get saved when god knows that regardless of our prayer he won’t till he’s 70 or neverbatvall. Why pray for things when God knows the future that it may not happens already
Owen
April 2, 2019 at 10:17 amThis is a good website
Luke
April 6, 2019 at 5:53 amI think that God has a plan for us, but God does not see the future. It may simply be that God wants the best for us. Our lives are still our own and our decisions today will still effect us. What God see’s is our potential to live the best we can and be as blessed as we can be. Your dad may only live until 70 but what is important is how good of a life he had up until then. Our job is to love God and try to follow his path. Jesus knew that the religious leaders were angry at him and he knew that one day they would capture him. But it never stopped him from telling the Good News, it never defeated him.

September 29, 2019 at 7:21 amGod does see the future. He knows the out come of all things. Remember he is the Created . It’s not how good we are , good works will not get anyone into Heaven only by the Grace of God and the confession of sin and asking Jesus to come into our hearts. God wants everyone to love him, have a relationship with him, but God doesn’t force himself on anyone he wants us to choose him out of love. I pray this father will receive Christ as his savior, but it’s up to him to ask Christ into his heart. Salvation is for the taking of your willing to ask. God Bless.

April 30, 2019 at 8:06 amthis is the subject that make the youth to became very strong in their faith and the church will stand with its root deep in faith and church will stand on the through in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, And that is where my heart was been broken with word of God, many church can preach the word of God but without discipleship and that church will be dry church because the faith of the people are properly not brought up in maximum way of believers

I’m deeply moved and encouraged in the Lord through this message.
Personally I’ve been struggling with fear and it what seems to be crippling affect on me, I’ve been praying about it and reading God’s word but know I feel better equipped to overcome this struggle.
Be blessed.

October 13, 2019 at 7:30 pmSometimes I feel like I have to be perfect in my faith and actions for God to love me. I struggled and still struggle with being a perfect Christian and it just feels really hard to believe that God would love me despite these iniquities.

October 16, 2019 at 1:57 amI’m going through the same. It may not be easy but you can save having Jesus. I can give you clue on how I’m working myself out from it. First, Try to make a covenant with God because that would build up your spirit since you don’t want to offend God. Secondly, remove the things that draw your attention to porn like photos of naked women or social media. Yes, I know not hard but try to. Your mind stores the things you see, hear and that is while it is hard to get over it. Thirdly, try to spend time with friends, staying alone can draw your attention to porn. Go out often and try to stay in an open space. Then pray seriously about it, speak the word of God to the demonic spirit. Thank you.

October 17, 2019 at 5:36 amI’ve been ignoring your emails to me for weeks, but by God’s grace, I accidentally opened this one. And it was a right choice for me. Maybe because I got so overwhelmed about my upcoming exam next month. One thing is for sure, God will always find ways, make ways, in order for us to remain in His arms, no matter what happens.

December 7, 2019 at 2:13 pmThe quote “Faith says no to fear, no to emotions and yes to God” is really powerful. I like it because it is so true. If God asked you to throw away your phone and not replace it, would most people do it? There might be some who say they would, but it is easier said than done. I personally don’t own a phone, but it would be something like my camera. I just got it recently and I am enjoying it. I would have trouble just throwing it away and never replacing it. sadly, even if God asked me. We should be open to what he says and remember that if he asks you to do something, it is all part of a greater plan.

March 23, 2020 at 9:56 pmIt’s not easy is it? It’s a strange even scary time. One of the best things I’ve found when I don’t get it is to ask God for His help and wisdom. August 18, 2020 at 7:55 amThis is a mom who reads your devotionals with my son, Zach. . . he is a teen on the autism spectrum and he is starting at a new school almost an hour away (up until now he’s been going to our local high school which is basically in our back yard). We know this is part of God’s plan, but there are so many “unknowns” that make this such a leap of faith. We keep focusing on the fact that being in the middle of God’s will is the BEST place to be, no matter how “scary” the circumstances may be sometimes. Thanks for your prayers and for your wonderful devotionals. .. they have been perfect for Zach and God has used them to speak to specific situations for him/us time and time again. God bless you all!

August 19, 2020 at 9:18 amIt might feel like that sometimes, and sure you can’t ask someone to eat at your lunch table with you, but I bet there’s a way you can help someone. Can you do the dishes for your mom? Have a brother or sister that you could encourage or let them choose what to watch on TV? Have a neighbor you could mow the lawn for? Write a note to your grandma? These are just a few ideas. Ask God for His help too. There has to be something you can do to bless others around you!
These times are very strange for many of us! Stay encouraged, there’s something you can do to bless those around you!

August 26, 2020 at 5:47 pmThis is such a true statement. In the modern community it’s Everyman for himself. Is a Godless society.
