Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. – Psalm 23:6 (KJV)
Spending time with God should be a lifelong process. Knowing God is something we all can enjoy. The end of the verse talks about how David dwelt in the house of the Lord for ever. He knew that knowing God was a life-long eternal process. He got to know God more and more through the journey of life.
When David was a shepherd, he got to know God. When he grew older, he knew God in another way. When he became king, David had to trust and know God as well. There is no point in our lives when we don’t need God to lead us and guide us. There’s no point in life when we don’t need to dwell in his house.
Each day, we can get to know God more. You do that through time in the Bible and through time praying and in worship. Through each day and through each stage of our lives we need God and we need to dwell in His prescence.
So today, determine that you will get to know God more. Decide that He is who you will follow and trust. Knowing God is the greatest joy you’ll find in life. So put in the effort to get to know Him more.
