“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me – John 10:14 (NLT)
Do you ever feel unknown and insignificant? I remember a time in middle school where I wanted so badly to have my crush pay attention to me. No matter what I did, he didn’t seem to notice me at all. And to be honest, that made me feel really bad. It wasn’t that he was mean or anything, I just wasn’t a person that he noticed because I tended to be quiet.
You might feel the same way at times. Maybe it feels like your teacher doesn’t hear you or understand you. Or perhaps a friend isn’t giving you the attention it feels like you deserve. When you start to feel down because it feels like no one cares, realize something important from today’s verse: you are known by God.
As God’s child, you are known. He knows you. God cares about you, and wants a relationship with you. So in those moments when it feels like the people around you don’t care or get you, know the truth is the one that matters the most, God, knows you.
God could be busy with all the problems in the world. But even in the middle of everything going on, He cares for you. He knows you and always has time for you.
Today, don’t be afraid to take your requests and your problems to God. Realize that He knows you. He cares for you and wants you to experience a good and fulfilling relationship with Him.
