For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
We all face fear at times in our lives. No one is immune to it. However, it’s important to realize that fear isn’t from God.
God gives us power, love, self-discipline. He gives good things to us, not bad things like fear.
So when you’re struggling with fear, realize that it’s not from God. Fear often comes when we get our eyes off God and onto our circumstances or feelings. When we forget to focus on God, we can often become afraid of the things going on around us.
Today’s Challenge: To defeat fear, keep your focus on God.
So if you’ve noticed that you’ve been fearful lately, take inventory of what you’ve been focused on. Perhaps you’ve become consumed with something that has shifted your focus off God. When you do that, it allows fear into your life.
When our focus becomes anything other than God, we can become fearful.
