Do you know what’s great about God? He doesn’t want you troubled by the cares, concerns, and worries of life. That’s an amazing thing to think about. God doesn’t want you concerned about the friends at school that aren’t being nice to you. He doesn’t want you troubled about the unrest in the world around you.
Why? It’s because He promises to take care of those things for us. We don’t have to be concerned about the future. Jesus tells us to not let our hearts be troubled or to be afraid in John 14:27.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:27 (NIV)
Doing what this verse says isn’t easy. We are wired to want to worry. It’s easy to want to take the troubles of the world around you and let them cause you to be upset. However, that isn’t God’s best for you.
God wants you to rest in Him, and to walk in His peace. So regardless of what is going on around you, you can be at peace knowing that God will take care of you and watch after you.
