Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. – Hebrews 12:2 (NLT)
God never asks us to do something that we cannot do. In Jesus, we have His power to let go of the weights and sin that trip us up. This verse challenges us to let go of the sin that seems to easily trip you up and run with God.
Running with endurance means that you’re consistently pushing forward with God and His ways. It’s easy to overcommit to something, and find out later that you won’t be able to continue. Committing to do the small things consistently is where you’ll find you reach your greatest potential with God. As you get the small things in order in your life, you’ll see that the other things fall into place as well.
Challenge yourself to run with endurance today. Don’t give up when things get tough, but stay the course and be encouraged knowing that others are in heaven cheering you on.
