Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man shall draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
– Hebrews 10:38
One summer, I was getting ready to go on a missions trip. My missions team spent a few days before the trip working on team building. One of the exercises we did was called a trust fall. What we did in this exercise was to stand on a ledge and fall backwards into the arms of our team members. I remember standing on that ledge trying to work up the courage to fall back into what I couldn’t see, and trust my team members to catch me.
That’s a lot what living by faith feels like at times. It can feel like you’re standing on a ledge getting ready to fall, and you’re trusting God to catch you.
The good news about living by faith, however, is that God is not going to let you fall. When you read the Bible, you see that time after time God came through for those who loved Him. You can know that He will do the same for you.
So even though you might be scared at times and feel like you don’t know what to do, remember that God will never let you fall. He’s there to catch you, look out for you, and love you. So choose today to trust in God. Choose to put your faith in Him. The Bible tells us in today’s verse that we are to live by faith. So choose to put your trust in God and watch Him come through for you!
